God’s Atonement – Why did Jesus have to die?

th46XBVKKR

How would you respond to someone who says, “Why was God required to spill blood of his own son to save us, when he could have just done that some other way?” If you think about it, in the strict sense, God could have done it a different way. He could have told the story of our redemption any way he wanted. So, why did he choose to put it on the shoulders of Jesus? Continue reading

Do Some Christians Focus too much on a One Time Conversion?

thZYTNX2ZB

If you look at the question posed in the title of this post, you might be wondering if I am hinting that conversion is not as important as it is made out to be. No, but I am merely trying to uncover why this emphasis on that first conversion to Christ seems to be the “end all and be all” for many Evangelical Christians. Their focus is heavily weighted on that first encounter with the grace of God tugging on our heartstrings to realize our need for God and be “Born again.” Continue reading

Journey of the Soul after Death

thFH0RSLFM

For you and I, we must face the fact that our mortal bodies will one day give out. There will come a day when our bodies will be weakened or damaged to the point that it can no longer respond to the energy coming from our souls. The Ultimate Gift of Christmas

thWDBW4NEG
Christmas is a very exciting time of year, especially for children. They are focused on all the gifts they will receive. Adults also get excited about seeing the joy in the eyes of those children as they receive those gifts. But if you ask my parents, they probably weren’t too excited when my siblings and I would wake them up at 4am on Christmas morning. As children, we couldn’t wait to run to the living room and see what Santa had brought us. Of course, mom and dad would make us go back to bed for a couple of more hours so they could get a little more sleep. We on the other hand, were too excited to sleep. Continue reading

The Feast of All Souls Day

thIUZ7LRN8

When we die, our souls will end up in one of two places, right. Heaven or Hell. November 1st is the day when the Church honors, remembers and celebrates those people who have made it to the beatific vision of heaven as their final destination. In doing so, they have become Saints. But what about the following day, November 2nd, which is the feast of “All Souls Day?” What does this day refer to? Continue reading
